Photos and DVD

Based on the uncertainty surrounding the timing of the state’s reopening guidelines and limitations around large gatherings, the University will not be able to effectively plan for an August commencement ceremony for our May 2020 graduates. Therefore, we are moving forward to determine whether an in-person ceremony that will comply with state guidelines can occur in December. We expect to finalize plans by the end of September.

2018 graduate photoPhotography is a vital part of any commencement ceremony and a way to memorialize this important part of a student's life.

To help ensure that the ceremony is conducted in a dignified manner, family members and others attending are asked to remain in their seats. Aisles must be kept clear, and videography and still photography will not be allowed at the railings or on the arena floor. Only graduates, faculty, authorized staff, and news media will be allowed on the floor before and during the ceremony.

GradImages is the official photographer for Commencement. Three photos will be taken of each student: one prior to walking on stage, one on stage shaking hands, and one after exiting the stage.  Pre-register today from GradImages and save 20%! Additionally, students who attend the Commencement Fair will be able to have their photo taken by GradImages with no sitting fee.

Proofs will be emailed to students' UNC Charlotte email address a few days after the ceremony.

Pictures may be ordered online, by phone, or by mail.  To view your proofs online, please visit the GradImages website.

A video will be produced by GradImages, showing segments of the Commencement ceremony and every graduate being congratulated. DVD copies will be available to purchase from GradImages a couple of months after the ceremony.

Following commencement, GradImages' photographers will be circulating outside the commencement venue to capture additional candid photographs of our graduates with their guests. The GradImages staff will be wearing red vests, so they’ll be highly visible and easy to locate.

UNC Charlotte will also have photographers at the ceremonies; those photos will be available here.
